Case 6 - immature open apex

This patient was referred to Endo Elements following an episode of trauma to his upper central incisor many years ago. The patient remained asymptomatic till a few weeks before his presentation to me. Radiographs showed a very large periapical radiolucency associated with the non-vital tooth 11 which had an immature open apex.

Treatment undertaken:- Non-surgical root canal treatment of an immature open apex with the placement of an MTA apical plug. Note the uprighting of teeth 11 and 12 after healing of the periapical pathology.
